I Have/Who Has Du Jour!

Do your students need practice with concepts or skills they are working to master? The I Have/Who Has activity is an engaging and motivating way for kids to gain fluency in small groups, with partners, or as a whole class. While they practice, you can check for understanding.

I have x + 1! Who has...
I have 1 ten and 4 ones. Who has...
Follow the break to download card decks and find out more about this activity.
I have formatted the following decks to be printed to the Avery 5263 2" X 4" labels. These can be ordered directly from Supply. Then you can affix them to index cards and the kids can be rolling in minutes!

Using the Decks
  • Give one card to each student. If you have cards left over, give these to students who need more practice!
  • Once the cards have been distributed, encourage students to look at the answer they "have" and to think about the question this might be answering. Any student may begin play. The round is finished when the first person to ask "Who Has?" stands to reveal what they "Have."
  • Keep track of the time it takes to complete each round. Challenge students to become faster and faster! But, obviously, avoid a situation that may lead to anyone picking on someone who struggles to answer.
  • For small groups, or a menu/center activity, students deal cards out in front of them and manage several of them at once (just like multiple card bingo!)
  • Shuffle and repeat!
Send me more ideas for decks, or submit some of your own!
