Perhaps you are giving the Changing Numbers assessment for the first time, or find yourself wanting to brush up on Ten Frames. Kathy has included PDF instructions for you to download and view.

They are just a couple of clicks away!

Click on the PDF icon to download the file of your choice.

In some cases, these files include updated resources you may need for the assessment. Like these dot cards to the left.

The "Linking Assessment to Instruction" pages outline suggested activities and interventions for each instructional level of the assessment. SUPER USEFUL!!!

For more detailed reading on the assessments, please refer to your Assessing Math Concepts library. Every classroom should have one!

Alrighty then - so you are all brushed up on your assessment technique, and are ready to dive in. Find the
button and have at it! This button delivers Kathy's new web tool to your finger tips.

Obviously, all the assessments can be found on the right side of the window. But before launching one, be sure to check out the useful features tabbed on the left side.

Kathy loves directions! /wink
I like reviewing the goal of the assessment each time I begin with a new round of students. It helps to keep me focused upon what I should be looking for in student responses.

A great feature of the paper and pencil version is the ability to quickly scribble notes as students are working. While it is not as convenient as scribbling, the new "Comments" tab is also SUPER USEFUL!
You may keep this tab open during the entire assessment for "relatively" easy note taking!
All of your notes will appear on the individual student reports that you print out later. Yeah! For quick and easy comments, select "Notes." Here you will find some old faithful and handy comments just needing a check mark from you
Well, that's about all I can think of to get you started. Next, I'll put together some information to help you run reports to shed light on the patterns within your classroom and school. I hope you will use these excellent tools to bring yourself closer to understanding student thinking!!!
